You’re a genius
Catholic vampire who sustains off off the Eucharist as much as possible to avoid hurting people who used to eat HELLA spicy food and/or piping hot coffee and tea in life so really what’s the difference now plus their mouth and insides will heal anyway and it’s worth the sting to them
If we’re going traditional vampire rules (no sun, drinks blood, dead, carrier of plague and other mystical powers) technically to my understanding there’s nothing stopping that vampire from receiving the Eucharist and having a saving relationship with Christ
1. Human - so human soul (so we’re excluding the versions where the vampire is actually a demon or spirit who just kinda looks human)
2. Presumably the soul doesn’t depart from the vampire (most cases seem to be more a “his soul is in there but damned” sense rather than literally soulless) so that soul’s still in their possession
3. From an orthodox perspective as long as that vampire was baptized and has confessed and done penance they can take the Eucharist
4. Nothing really impedes that vampire from being a full fledged Christian, at most if you include the holy water and crucifix aversion vulnerabilities you have someone who has a very hard time but neither of those things are necessary for the Eucharist or salvation
5. Orthodox theology God saves the damned humanity and forgives all sin so it’s not like vampires would be an exception on account of the whole turning people into capri suns thing
6. Jesus is fully human and transubstantiation is a thing and the image of a Catholic vampire mystic sustaining themselves on communion wine alone goes HARD
Thank you for coming to my TED talk

The issue that these vampires deal with all the time and consistently throughout the books is the fact that you never die. You never know, really, what is the meaning of anything. And religion, throughout the ages, 'cause these are old creatures, is the main catechism that kind of keeps running at them.

THIS IS EVERYTHING!!!♥️ 🧛‍♂️
when I was a little kid at some point I got upset with my parents because I didn't have a crucifix in my bedroom and they did- I was like why do YOU get to be safe from vampires??? you're okay with me getting my blood sucked???? so we took a little trip to the catholic store but the one closest to us was run by a group of nuns that had been moved here from romania. I got a little baby pink cross and this sweet old nun was like 'aww, is this a baptism gift?' and I was like no. I need to be protected from vampires. and she immediately got SO serious and was like 'this is the best one we've got, you'll definitely be safe' and since she was literally from vampire land I was convinced she was like, van helsing. like the whole time my parents had been laughing about how cute my fear was but she literally Knew dracula and was taking my concerns seriously I held this over my parents for so long lmfao

random notes about how in Eureka, vampire fangs sometimes resemble snake fangs
-In ancient Christian and Hebrew text, the serpent is a symbol of both positive and negative connotation.
-often represents wisdom and intelligence.
-Jesus Christ compares Himself and the twelve apostles to serpents.
-both vampires and serpents are something legitimately very dangerous but not ontologically evil
-both vampires and serpents are something that pop culture posits is diametrically opposed to Christianity and vice versa, but if you actually read the Bible, it’s really neither here nor there. Even in the bit of scripture that most famously posits snakes as uniquely Evil and Of The Devil, that’s a really dubious interpretation of it.
-wisdom?

“Armand is so evil” “Armand is so crazy” Armand spent two hundred years in a catholic cult… he should be even more evil and crazy actually!
